A tough battle between the opposition and IRMAR

President Andry Rajoelina’s party intends to win big in the next municipal elections after the IRMAR coalition won the legislative elections in May 2024. The Isika Rehetra Miaraka amin’i Andry Rajoelina party, which had a majority of 140 representatives in the last National Assembly elections, aims to win 80% or even 90% of the city hall seats in November.

The program of the President of the Republic should undoubtedly put forward a strong candidate in front of the opposition. Independent MPs who support the regime should play their part in the balance.

According to the original Financial Law LFI 2024, the budget for municipal elections was set at ARI 50 billion.
