Hear from IOC President Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski and Filipino Olympians ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics

In the pilot episode of HOMESTRETCH, host Pató Gregorio interviews International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board member and 2002 Asian Games gold medalist Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski. Mikee shares her thoughts on the Philippine team in Paris and reflects on her competition in Busan.
Gregorio also spoke with Filipino athletes who are preparing for their individual events in Paris. Boxers Eumir Marcial, Nesty Petecio, Carlo Paalam, Hergie Bacyadan and Aira Villegas from Germany spoke to HOMESTRETCH about the long journey to the Olympics. Rower Joanie Delgaco from Paris recalled her father’s reaction when he learned of her entry into the Summer Olympics, while pole vaulter EJ Obiena from Italy spoke about the passion of the competition and even his love life.
HOMESTRETCH seeks to tell the stories of the people who inspire us with their struggles and triumphs, and the places that help define the spirit of our nation.
HOMESTRETCH is co-hosted by Rappler and Duckworld and hosted by athlete and tourism advocate Pató Gregorio, currently the President of the Philippine Rowing Association (PRA), former President of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and recipient of the 2003 Outstanding Young Person in Tourism (TOYM) award.
