Broward County man charged with robbing Boca Raton and Delray Beach banks

Courtney Mallory, 44, a resident of Coconut Creek in Broward County, is accused of carrying out two bank robberies in South Florida.

According to the allegations in the filed criminal complaint, on June 5, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Mallory allegedly entered the Truist Bank on State Road 441 in Boca Raton, Florida, brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and wearing a mask.

Mallory demanded money from the bank staff and forced the bank teller to take him to the vault. Mallory drove away in a dark blue Nissan with thousands of dollars in cash.

Mallory is accused of committing a second bank robbery on July 12, 2024. On that day, Mallory entered the Bank of America on Joger Road in Delray Beach, Florida. Mallory was again wearing a mask and brandishing what appeared to be a firearm.

Mallory again fled in a dark blue Nissan with thousands of dollars in cash inside.

According to the Department of Justice, FBI agents arrested Mallory at his residence in Coconut Creek on July 17, 2024.

During the arrest and subsequent search of his vehicle, agents found the clothing and backpack Mallory was wearing during the robbery, a black airsoft gun and thousands of dollars in cash, some of which was wrapped in Truist Bank and Bank of America bank cards.

Mallory appeared in federal court in West Palm Beach for an initial hearing on Thursday, July 18, 2024. A pretrial detention hearing is scheduled for July 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. before a U.S. District Court judge in West Palm Beach.
