Somewhere, an excited kid will jump in Sunshine Snacks Teen Kadooment Staring at their costumes with anticipation.
Over the past few days, band leaders have been distributing costumes to various band clubs in preparation for the children’s National Botanical Garden.
Fifth Element ProductionsLed by Kevin Small, it will serve between 200 and 240 children. Their theme is Fruit snackscombining healthy eating and fun.
“We are working on promoting healthy living among kids. The Ministry of Education has been pushing a mandate for kids to eat healthier. So this is just my contribution and my efforts to encourage kids to eat healthily, especially with the disproportionate increase in childhood comorbidities, obesity and other diseases; making snacks and fruits fun.”
Small, who will celebrate his 10th anniversary in 2024, said the juvenile band will be divided into five sections.
“I try to use my youth band as a teacher, as a teaching mechanism,” he explains. “You’re going to have a lot of fun, but you’re also going to learn something.”
Not far from his base at Grazettes in St. Michael, Blackbird Productions A base has been established in Driston.
Band leader Sonya Price said they would pay tribute to the cultural ambassador, the Most Reverend Stedson.Red plastic bagWiltshire made a splash in 1982 with Sugar Sets Us Freee and Mr. Harding.
“He brought out some really great music. Young and old loved his music. So, I have to tip my hat to him,” Price said.
The theme includes four parts: Retro Pack, Traditional Pack, Party Pack and Compliment Pack Something in the music.
Price said she was reluctant to bring a band because she was disappointed with last year’s performance, and she deliberately reduced the number of people from 180 to 130 after her husband Sankar encouraged her to return to the show.
“Last year it was terrible, we had to wait for a long time at the stadium; it was hours, the children were tired and they promised that this year it would be better,” she said.
“Usually they judge all the bands, but this year they separated the school bands and the private bands. So the school bands went first and then the private bands went. We’re hoping that this year it’ll go somewhere and we won’t have to wait that long.
According to the National Cultural Foundation, 23 bands are participating this year. Bands vying for the top prize include Blackbird Productions, Caro’s Entertainment, Fifth Element Productions, hijack, mystery, north, Royalty Junior Kadooment Band, Helping Hands Community Band, Samsung Productions and Xant The National Library Service will send a band to perform but will not compete.
