ECOWAS: What do internet users think of Bassirou Diomaye’s mediation with AES countries (Survey)

Nearly 70% of Internet users who participated in a survey by the information website Abidjan.net believe that Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye will not succeed in his mission as mediator between the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Alliance of Sahel Countries (AES), namely Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.

In fact, 69.99% of Internet users who participated in the survey, or 1,101 votes, believe that Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye will not succeed in his mission as mediator between ECOWAS and AES, while 20.15% or 317 voters hold the opposite view.

In addition, out of a total of 1,573 votes, 155 people voted “no opinion”, which is 9.85%.

The survey, titled “ECOWAS: Senegalese President Basilou Fayé has been appointed mediator for negotiations with AES countries (Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger). Will he succeed?” opens on July 11, 2024 and closes on July 15, 2024.

At the end of its summit in Abuja on July 7, ECOWAS appointed Senegalese President Basilou Diomaye Faye as facilitator for discussions with the Alliance for Sahel States (AES).
