Reverend Dozie – He is the one who filed a complaint against lawyer Orson Elrington for professional misconduct. Elrington was found guilty by the General Legal Council and ordered to pay a fine of $15,000, as well as $46,000 in restitution owed to Dozie. In an interview with Elrington on Tuesday, he stated that the money had been paid, but according to Dozie, he has not received any money yet. It is worth noting that the General Legal Council has given Elrington a deadline of Friday, July 19, to pay Dozie. Dozie spoke to Love News yesterday and confirmed that he has not received any money owed to him and has not been in contact with Elrington.

Pastor Dozie questions SSB death benefits: “We are satisfied that justice was served in this particular case.”
reporter: You never thought about getting him disbarred or anything like that to stop him from practicing law? You just wanted the money and you were wronged?
Pastor Dozie questions SSB death benefits: “Yes Yes.”
reporter: Have you spoken to Mr. Ellington since the ruling?
Pastor Dozie questions SSB death benefits: “No, no, absolutely not.”
reporter: So I remember a day or two ago Mr. Elrington said in an interview that he had paid you the money, is that true?
Pastor Dozie questions SSB death benefits: “I won’t agree to it unless we talk.”
reporter: So, has the money been paid to you?
Pastor Dozie questions SSB death benefits: “For me personally, I believe the General Legal Council’s approval is very clear and he should comply with it.”
reporterQ: So, just to be clear, you have not received any payment up to now?
Pastor Dozie questions SSB death benefits: “Before we talked, I hadn’t gotten anything out of it. Most people would have given up because it’s so torturous. Let me be specific, I’m talking about the mental and emotional assault, your mind is constantly under assault, that’s what this torment does to a person. But in my case, fortunately, I give God the glory, I say it all for the glory of God because, it’s no secret, I’ve been very vocal about my relationship with Jesus Christ being the source of my courage, encouragement, boldness, inspiration and determination to stay the course.”
Another aspect of the case that Dozzi touched on was Ellington’s claim that he (Dozzi) had agreed to the Social Security Board’s settlement. Dozzi even called the attorney a liar.
reporter: Did you verbally agree to a settlement with the SSB?
Pastor Dozie questions SSB death benefits: “No, it’s… Another good question, and I’ll answer it straight out, as always, unequivocally. I’m going to say this clearly and unequivocally here – that gentleman and I never spoke. I never agreed to that settlement. Never. That man should have known better, either verbally or in writing, because he’s a lawyer. I repeat, I say this clearly and unequivocally, I never agreed to that settlement either verbally or in writing.”
Dozier has been seeking justice since his wife’s death in 2021. He told Love News that the situation has put a lot of pressure on him as he is still dealing with the death of his wife and the unconstitutional refusal of the Social Security Board to provide him with a death benefit, coupled with the unprofessional behavior of Ellington. As we reported on Tuesday, the General Legal Committee also recommended a forensic investigation into the possible forgery of Dozier’s signature on the employment letter produced during the investigation.
