National leader Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera on Thursday evening met and held discussions with traders from the eastern part of the country to strengthen developing relations and unity in Malawi.
The meeting, held at the Chicoco Bay State Lodge, was intended to give vendors a chance to meet with the head of state.
While addressing the conference, Chakwera said he was aware of the problems faced by businessmen in the country and stressed that government was committed to addressing them.
The leader said that businessmen play a very important role in the development of the country.
Chakwera said that is why the government has set up various loans to help entrepreneurs find ways to grow their businesses.
In their words, the vendors were grateful to the leaders for giving them the opportunity to meet and listen to their grievances.
