Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were known to argue frequently while raising their six children in their marriage.
“They have very different parenting styles. Brad and Angie are fighting about it,” a source told PEOPLE on Thursday.
The insider said the 60-year-old actor “grew up with a strict structure and wanted more rules for” Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
For her part, the 49-year-old star “had a different upbringing and wants kids to be more independent and in charge of their own schedules from a young age.”
However, the couple “always had the same vision for their child’s future,” according to a source.
The couple married in 2014 and separated in 2016. They reportedly “wanted their children to grow up experiencing the world through their own eyes, not just in a traditional school setting.”
