Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum said that the Mass Housing Administration (TOKı), which calculates housing payments based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), determined the increase to be 24 percent instead of 49 percent.
Minister Kurume, in a statement on his social media account, said he had important news concerning the hundreds of thousands of citizens who were living in TOKIs residences and were still continuing to receive payments.
“As you know, we adjust the monthly TOKi installments based on the increase in civil servants’ salaries. But this time, we used the CPI rate as a reference. We set the increase at 24% instead of 49%. Therefore, we contribute 50% to our citizens in installments,” the agency said.
