televisionThe Barbados Association of Retirees (BARP) has partnered with Guardsman (Barbados) Limited to offer discounts on electronic security services to BARP members.
The move was welcomed by the association and its president, Marilyn Rice Bowen, who said the discount partnership made the cost of security systems more affordable for members, particularly those living alone and on fixed incomes.
“This partnership gives our members peace of mind knowing their lives, the lives of their families and their property are protected,” she said.
Omar Estwick, general manager of finance for Guardsman International Markets, said the company is pleased to have BARP as a security services partner. He explained that they will offer discounts on monthly services, installations and equipment to members who present a valid BARP card.
“We (Guardsman) are committed to playing our part in achieving the vision of Barbados as a safe and secure society,” added Estwick. “We take the safety of the people of Barbados seriously and will continue to provide high quality and effective electronic security systems and services, including 24-hour monitoring and response.”
“This partnership goes beyond just our collaboration as discount partners, it fits in with our Giveback 20 program which we launched this year to mark our 20th anniversary of operations in Barbados. Our team will also be offering free robbery prevention awareness and response courses to BARP members through Soaringand we encourage them to take advantage of that by participating,” said Hurtado Mitchell, General Manager of Operations at Guardsman.
Rice-Bowen welcomed the courses, saying: “These courses fit right in with our educational activities and we look forward to hosting them with Guardsman.”
Guardsman has also confirmed that it will sponsor BARP’s “Platinum Soca” regatta on July 27 at the Barbados Yacht Club as a security services provider. (public relationship)
