Auckland Airport warns of flight delays and cancellations due to fog

Thick FOG Heavy rainfall has blanketed Auckland this morning, causing disruption to travel across the city.

MetService says low cloud and mist will clear to become cloudy towards midday this morning.

“The fog is spreading from Auckland all the way to the Waikato,” Metservice said.

Auckland Airport issued a warning to passengers at 5.40am this morning.

“Auckland Airport is experiencing heavy fog and flights are expected to be delayed or cancelled.”

Auckland Airport introduced fog restrictions at 5.26am, but domestic and international flights have not yet been affected.

Auckland Transport is warning people planning to travel by ferry that disruptions may be expected.

“Due to weather conditions (fog), all ferry services are expected to be delayed or cancelled this morning.

“View real-time departures to see when services are running. Go to the journey planner to find alternative ways to get to your destination.”

TuesdayDozens of flights were canceled The flight was delayed due to heavy fog covering Auckland.

Commutes were disrupted as fog caused poor visibility for drivers and ferries were delayed.
