“I’ve never seen him so happy after a defeat as he was on Monday,” Sebastian Feist said of Rafael Nadal.

They may have experienced Rafael Nadal’s last match at the French Open. How do you feel about this? Sadness, nostalgia, disappointment?
Nostalgia. The first time I saw him win here was in 2005, and I’ve been at many of his matches and titles since then. I thought: Oh my god, I’ve been involved in this story for 20 years! I’ve discovered that not only is he getting older, I’m getting older too. (Laughs) But I don’t think this is his last match at Roland Garros. I’ve never seen him as happy after a defeat as he was on Monday against Zverev. It was actually a disaster for his results. A terrible first-round defeat at the French Open! But he was relieved because this match showed him that he’s still competitive. When he feels this way, it’s clear: He wants to know it again. He’ll be playing in 2025 – unless another major injury stops him.
