Zanel Hughes sits with Eleanor Oldroyd at his training base in Jamaica as he prepares for this summer’s Paris Olympics. A double gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games and European Championships, he is now aiming to add another Olympic trophy.
He went back to the beginning – from when he first discovered he was fast, to moving to the UK, to moving past the disappointment of missing the Rio Olympics, false starts and team disqualification in Tokyo.
He also gives us a peek inside his mind at the starting line and discusses whether it’s time for a new era in athletics.
