– Tuzla Cantonal Court, in the criminal proceedings against Elvis Ćustendil, charged with the criminal offence of murder under Article 166, Paragraph 2, Item a.) of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rendered a verdict of guilty at first instance and sentenced the accused to a long-term imprisonment of 25 years.
The court panel previously accepted his confession and, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, made a decision and imposed a specific sentence after evaluating all evidence from the Prosecutor’s Office and taking into account aggravating and mitigating circumstances.
That is, the defendant, who was a police officer of MUP TK at the time, was convicted of shooting Amra Kahrimanović with an official pistol on the night of February 7, 2024, in the Sjenjak Shopping Center in Tuzla.
The defendant’s decision orders an extended detention period, which can last nine months or until he is sent to prison to serve his sentence.
According to a state court announcement, the ruling is not legally binding and the parties have the right to appeal.
