Mexico City (apro) – Six Flags has guaranteed that “not a single tree” will be removed in the Tlalpan Forest Reserve (ANP) for the construction of the “A-coaster” project, which it intends to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
After residents of the area and the district itself spoke out against the project — which pledged that more than 150 trees would be cut down during its construction — Six Flags reported Tuesday that it had found a solution that was “responsive to the feelings of the authorities and neighbors.”
In light of this statement, the mayor of Tlalpan, Alfa González, clarified in her X account that the issue is not over yet, but added: “We are happy to know that they are withdrawing the proposal to cut down the trees.
“We have to be careful that the new proposals do not impact the already extremely congested traffic in the area.”

The park’s statement follows a statement from the Ministry of Environment (Sedema) reiterating that it had not authorized the felling of trees for the project and detailing that it was asking Six Flags to implement a community consultation process with a proposal to compensate for deforestation.
According to the park, they found a solution that wouldn’t knock down a tree, as the new coaster will be moved to another area of the park.
