At a major event held in the prestigious Upper House, Robert M. Chabinga, Acting Chairman of the Patriotic Front and Leader of the Opposition in the Zambian Parliament, was honoured with the African Leadership Achievement Award. The honour recognised his outstanding leadership and dedication to community work in the Mafinga constituency.

Mr. Chabinga expressed his deep gratitude for the honour and stressed that the award is not only a recognition of his personal achievements but also a testament to the collective efforts of his supporters.

“We take this opportunity to thank our families, friends and compatriots for their support and for trusting us to represent them, give a voice to the voiceless and put Mafinga and Zambia on the map across the country,” he said.

The award highlights Mr. Chapinga’s commitment to improving the lives of the most vulnerable in the community. Under his leadership, Mafinga Constituency has made significant progress, including access to the Constituency Development Fund, free education and social cash transfers. These initiatives reflect the effective policies of the new Zambian Government under President Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr. Chapinga also took the opportunity to advise African leaders to prioritize unity for the advancement and well-being of their citizens. He believed that the recognition would inspire African countries to continue their efforts to strive for excellence and progress in governance and community service.

This recognition not only honours Mr. Chapinga, but also highlights the potential for positive change and leadership in Africa.
