A jury of seven men and five women on Thursday found former President Donald Trump guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records for attempting to conceal a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence about the affair ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer who allegedly paid Daniels, said in court that he had informed his client of the payment. Trump’s lawyers portrayed Cohen as a convicted felon and liar, recalling his time in prison for tax fraud and lying to Congress.

Cohen’s story largely matches testimony from Daniels and tabloid editor David Pecker, who said he worked with Trump and Cohen to curb negative coverage of Trump during the Republican’s time in the White House.

During the trial, Trump attorney Todd Branch questioned Cohen’s loyalty to Trump and prosecutors, trying to show jurors that Cohen was selfish and willing to go to great lengths to achieve his goals.

Trump is the first former or current U.S. president to be criminally indicted.
