“While we received additional funding to expand the program, the high demand for energy payment applications and their approval in record time has This has led to our decision to complete the program by the September 30, 2024 deadline.. We have reached the limit of resources allocated for this incentive,” said the DF head.
Fradera Vázquez, for his part, informed the families that all cases requested through the ADSEF digital portal will be evaluated by 10:00 this morning.
The official also reported that once the applications are received, they will be reviewed to determine eligibility and the amount of payment to be submitted. Payments are made directly to the energy service provider.
A portion of the total funds received under the energy subsidy program is allocated to help the elderly. This year the amount of assistance is $4.6 million.
Since 2021, more than $128 million in LIHEAP financial assistance has been provided to low-income households through ADSEF.
The LIHEAP program provides financial assistance to households below the poverty line, particularly those with the lowest incomes who pay a high percentage of their income to meet their household’s direct energy needs, such as electricity and fuel. This service is provided once a year.
