For Estonian all-arounder Rasmus Rösler, the Götzis decathlon did not go as planned. The Estonian Championships at the end of June will bring new opportunities.
On Thursday, TV10’s penultimate Olympic Start show of the season appeared on screens, in which Roslett spoke about being a decathlete.
Rosslett reached the podium in the discus throw at the age of 11, won the all-around title in the TV 10 Olympic Start series at the age of 13, and joined the men’s club last year with a score of 8,000.
“I’m very strong in the shot put, with a record of over 16 meters. The discus is 49 meters, my goal is 50 meters, and the javelin record is 67 meters,” Roesler said. “These are important areas – there are still emissions.”
After that, help must be given to the jumping area. “I have worked a lot on the development of this technique, but even though the high jump has stabilized above two meters, it is not yet mature,” he said. “Pole vault and long jump are the focus, and I already have good sprint speed.”
In addition to training, the 21-year-old Roslett will complete a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Tallinn University this summer. “I study mathematics, data analysis and economic mathematics,” he said.
“Why did I choose it? It’s very different from sports, and I think two approaches are better than one, and putting all your eggs in one basket might not be the best idea. And I like math, so it fits in well.”
Still adjusting to the big sport, Rosselli stayed Gedzises The expected result was not achieved. He hopes to break his own record at the Estonian Championships in late June.
“The next competition is planned to be the Estonian Championships, and in terms of points, everything is going to be over 8,000 points and set a personal record. I can’t predict more.”
