President William Ruto has called on churches to pray for him as he prepares to reshuffle his cabinet following the sacking of all cabinet ministers and the attorney general.

Ruto, while addressing worshippers at a church service at AIPCA Ndojino in Nyandarua County, stressed the need for guidance when new officials are appointed to lead the country.

He asserted his full authority over the government and viewed the challenges ahead as opportunities for personal and national growth, promising to apply the lessons learned to become an exemplary leader.

“This administration is ahead, please pray for me so that I can find the staff that can help me fulfill the promises that you and I made to each other,” He said.

Ruto stressed his vision of transforming Kenya into a country that is not dependent on loans and debt. He announced the formation of a task force dedicated to auditing the country’s debt, with the aim of ensuring Kenya’s stability and prosperity while meeting the aspirations of its citizens.

“I am in full control of the situation, I am stronger and I assure Kenyans that I will have a very effective cabinet to serve Kenyans, I will have a government of national unity, please pray for me, my government is committed to moving Kenya forward.” President Ruto said.

The church service was held near Nduruli Primary School, where the president faced protests from Generation Z a few weeks ago and had to be escorted by his security team.

President Ruto pledged to fund the completion of the AIPCA Church in Ndojino and expressed concern that the ban on the use of harambee would negatively impact the church project. He announced plans to hold a public consultation on the law to gather Kenyans’ views on how leaders should support church activities.

“I directed my vice-chairman Rigathi Gachagua and the church leadership to assess the funds needed to complete the church so that I can write the cheque.” Ruto added.
