Barry Sawchuk said his neighbors found five more pieces of high-altitude debris.
Sawchuk, who owns a farm north of Regina, found a charred, honeycombed rectangle of aluminum and carbon fiber as tall as he was in his field last month.
He said SpaceX had contacted him and was negotiating a return of the fee, although the Elon Musk-owned spacecraft maker has not publicly acknowledged the rocket was from one of its rockets.
Samantha Lawler, a Saskatchewan astronomy professor, said there may be more debris left in the ground.
Lawler said it was a shame for SpaceX that the rockets did not burn up in the atmosphere.
