Libreville, Sunday, July 14, 2024 (Gabon News) – Yolande Nyonda died on Saturday, July 13, at the Army Training Hospital in Libreville at the age of 59, her family announced.
Admitted to hospital a few days ago, her health had improved. But nature decided otherwise and the former foreign minister passed away.
Yolande Nyonda also served as Ministerial Delegate for National Education and Civic Education before assuming the post of Minister under former President Ali Bongo Ondimba. A graduate of HEC Brussels and CEFEB (AFD), she has held several key positions in the Gabonese government, which has allowed her to contribute to the development of the Gabonese public service.
She left an indelible mark in her service to the Government, having served as Secretary at the Stabilisation and Equalisation Fund (Caistab) and then as Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Budget, Public Accounts and Civil Service, which is a testament to her professionalism. State.
The daughter of Vincent de Paul Nyonda, who served as a minister at several times during the presidency of Gabon’s first president, Léon Mba, Yolande Nyonda is the political and cultural heir of her ancestor. Her father is also considered one of the country’s greatest writers and playwrights. She has been able to continue this legacy through her political commitment and dedication to national service.
Yolande Nyonda’s commitment and kindness are also reflected in the associative environment.
