The reporter of “What Happened in Kaunas” who went to the scene told reporters that a considerable part of the slope was washed away and the rainwater drainage pipes were also broken and could not withstand excessive water.
The viaduct had no significant visual damage and traffic was allowed.
As Jolita Orentaitė, head of the communications department of the Via Lietuva company responsible for the maintenance of the bridge, told the news portal “Kas kyra kaune”, after a request from the news portal “Kas kyra kaune”, the information was transferred to the “Keliau beraza” company and the responsible employees of this company went to assess the situation.
