Muscat: Omani business leaders are taking proactive steps to support their communities through a number of impactful initiatives. These efforts are designed to meet both immediate needs and long-term development goals across all governorates of the Sultanate.

One notable initiative was led by local Omani entrepreneur Said bin Ali al Hakmani, who launched a program to provide housing and financial assistance to about 30 low-income families in Nahal governorate in Batinane South province.

This initiative complements existing social welfare work and underscores the commitment to ensuring housing security for vulnerable community members during a difficult summer.

“My purpose in launching this initiative is to motivate and encourage businessmen in all Omani governorates to pay attention to the economically disadvantaged, show their concern and take even small actions to help them,” Hakmani stressed, mentioning that his next plan this summer is to launch an initiative for people with special needs.

Shell Oman also offers summer internships, designed to allow young Omanis to gain hands-on experience in real projects. These internships not only enhance the professional skills of participants, but also promote workforce development and economic growth, strengthening the role of the business sector in shaping the future of the Omani economy.

Education remains a cornerstone of these community efforts, with businesses sponsoring various educational programs such as summer camps, seminars, scholarships and Quran memorization classes.

These initiatives enrich the educational experiences of local youth, promote cultural and religious values, and strengthen community ties across the country.

The way businesses, government agencies and residents worked together demonstrated Oman’s solidarity and resilience in the face of seasonal challenges.
