Mayor Vidic stressed the good cooperation with Chinese companies and thanked them for the construction and asphalt paving of some local roads as well as sections that still need to be completed, the Municipality of Čapliná announced.
By the way, the final construction work on the Počitelj – Zvirovići section, as well as on the bridge itself, has been intensified with the goal of opening part of the 5-c corridor to traffic during the summer tourist season.
The metal protective fence and the final layer of asphalt are currently being installed. The concrete work has been completed and the final work of waterproofing is now being carried out.
While construction is in progress, procedures for technical acceptance and obtaining a permit to use are also underway.
The Počitelj – Zvirovići section is 11 km long and will connect with the Republic of Croatia via the Bijača border crossing.
The above section also includes the Počitelj Bridge. The bridge has six piers, the highest of which is over 100 meters high, and the bridge is nearly one kilometer long. The Počitelj Bridge is one of the highest bridges in the region, which makes it one of the most complex structures within the 5-c corridor highway.
The City of Chaplinna reminds that the construction contract was signed on June 20, 2019 by representatives of Autocest FBiH and a contractor consisting of three companies, with a contract value of approximately EUR 56 million.
The construction of the Pochiteli Bridge is being undertaken by a consortium of Azerbaijan’s Azvirt LLC, Sinohydro Corporation and PowerChina Road and Bridge Corporation, which hired Hering of Široki Brijeg as a subcontractor.
