The player was originally scheduled to continue playing for Municipal in the 2024-2025 season, but his outstanding performance with the team in the America’s Cup has attracted interest from other clubs.
“Due to the outstanding participation of Edgardo Fariña with Panama in the 2024 Copa America, the City Council and Independiente have jointly decided to consider and analyze the different proposals that have been put forward, hoping to decide in the coming days on the most convenient option one”, a fragment of the statement said.
The club thanks Edgardo Fariña for playing for the institution and for winning the championship in the autumn 2024 tournament, saying: “The Municipality wishes him great success in his personal and sporting career, opening the doors to future opportunities and together they can pursue new national and international victories.”
