Bohinjska Bistrica is currently constructing a section of the fecal sewage and water supply system through Korita, which will connect the entire sewage system of the upper Bohinjska valley to the treatment plant in Bitnje. On Tuesday morning, the road through Korita will be accessible to all vehicles again, Bohinj obina reported.

In Koriti, they started laying asphalt at the beginning of this week, but due to the high temperatures, the national road through Ribefraz will not be open to traffic this weekend during the construction.

The construction of the connection line will connect the entire sewage system of the upper Bohinj Valley (which already includes the villages of Enjica, Studor, Srednja vas and Jereka) to the heating plant in Bitnje. As they pointed out on the obina, it is located on a stretch of less than one kilometer in length, the construction requirements are high, and the financial value of the work is 700,000 euros, which is one of the larger annual investment projects in Bohinj obina.

The Korita project is very important for the Bohinj region as it connects the upper and lower valleys through a sewage system. At the same time, it will bring water supply and telecommunication lines to the upper valley, which will facilitate the installation of optics. “Although we were worried about what the soil would look like to bury the construction machinery, the work is going well,” stressed a hopeful Joe Soja.

Telecommunications connections have also been built in Jelica and Studol, and in parallel with the construction, the municipal connection is being laid in a joint venture between Slovenia Telekom and Obina Bohinj e. This year they started building the municipality’s network, which will be built in several stages until 2027.

So far, EUR 2.2 million has been invested in the construction of the sewer network in the upper Bohinj River, including the layout of the connecting pipes. Construction work in Srednja vas will continue next year, and all land has been acquired and the project is ready for a building permit. In addition, work on the national road through the village is also underway. Obina plans to obtain a building permit by the end of this year and will carry out construction in phases over the next few years.
