Authorities reported that a fatal crash occurred on Highway 3 in the town of Guayama toward Salinas at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024.
According to the Uniform Report, a man was identified as Richard Torresa Salinas resident, was driving his vehicle Toyota CorollaAt the above location, a walking man was struck, who was allegedly obstructing the taxiway, but whose identity has not been determined.
The man died on the spot due to his serious injuries.
The vehicle driver’s blood alcohol content was detected through a breath test and the result was 0.041%.
Prosecutor Michel Miel Martínez was present at the scene, who, together with Special Agent Rafael Díaz Collazo, was in charge of the investigation and issued a ticket to transport the deceased to the Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF).
Civilians arrested two suspects who allegedly tried to steal a car in Santurce
Around 11:35 p.m. Thursday, a man and a security guard arrested two people in the parking lot of Miramar House Latin Cuisine in Santurce.
According to the city police report, the complainant was in his 2020 white Mitsubishi Mirage when two men approached him from both sides of the vehicle, tried to force the door open, and hit the windows multiple times.
At this point, the victim informed security, who stopped the men and they fled the scene. The complainant then got out of the car and chased the subjects along with the security.
They later arrested them civilly and requested medical emergency personnel to treat one of them who had multiple injuries to his body.
Those arrested were two men, a 25-year-old Arizona resident and a 19-year-old from Oregon.
The case is scheduled to be consulted with the duty prosecutor in the morning.
Officers Luis Roldán and Luis Rivera of the San Juan Municipal Police Department investigated the incident.
