Estonian tennis player Maileen Nuudi and her Dutch partner Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove were eliminated from the W50 ITF tournament in Germany.
The Estonian-Dutch duo defeated the German pair of Isabel Jeupgen and Julia Victoria Rennert 6:2, 6:2 on Tuesday. On Wednesday, they will face second-placed Jana Moderg (Germany) and Chiara Sauer (USA) in the quarterfinals.
Nudi and Patinama Kekhov won the first set in 21 minutes without dropping a game to their opponents. In the second set, they led 5:4, but their opponents quickly took the set to the decider, where they won the set.
In the final set, the opponent led 5-0. Nudi and Patinama Khov saved three match points and tied at 10:10, but they could not do more. Morderger and Scholl won 0:6, 7:6 (4), 12:10 at the end of the one and a half hour match.
In the singles competition, Nudi lost to Russian player Anna Ulek 3:6, 3:6 in the first round of the qualifiers.
