The Tonga Police Cyber Crime Unit has discovered a fraudulent ad on Facebook from the page “Serve-01” which falsely claims that the Tonga Ministry of Education and Training is offering up to 2,000 free online courses.
The Ministry of Education and Training confirmed through its e-government channels that the advert was a scam involving a malicious link.
Police advise the public not to trust the advert as it is fake and not to open the link attached to the advert as it could be malicious and could result in the loss of sensitive information and potential scam victims.
