Omran to develop five-star hotel in Muscat

Muscat: Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) has issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) to top engineering and construction firms to develop a five-star hotel in Muscat. The project, part of a larger integrated development in the Al Bustan region, is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2027 and will be operated by renowned international hotel group Four Seasons.

The hotel will have 200 rooms and will be located in a prime location in Marina Bandar A’Rawdha. Spread over 180,000 square metres, the development will include 91 branded luxury apartments, F&B outlets and high-end retail stores.

The scope of the project is not limited to the hotel itself. It includes the renovation of Bandar A’Rawdha Wharf, the oldest and largest wharf in the Sultanate of Oman, and the construction of supporting utility buildings. Omran expects the entire project to be completed in four to five years.

According to the tender notice, bidders must be experts in the construction and delivery of integrated tourism complex projects and mixed-use real estate and tourism development projects. The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is July 18.

The move follows the signing of an agreement between Omran and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in May 2022. Carnahan stressed that the new Four Seasons hotel is expected to attract luxury guests and residents from all over the world, contributing to the strategic expansion of Muscat.

The new Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Muscat will offer an urban-style resort that will appeal to both business and leisure travelers. The project will also feature private residences with stunning views of the Sea of ​​Oman, providing a unique experience of mountain and seaside luxury.
