Another project that recently received LEED standards is the UNITOWERS tower designed by architect Avner Ishar, located in the complex in front of the Beach Village, a room at Amiri Zichron Ya’akov.
This is the first office and mixed-use project in Hadera and the entire region to be awarded the prestigious standard mark. The project received this standard, among other things, because it maximizes the convenient public transportation – bus and train, and encourages arrival by bicycle and electric car. It will include two 24-story office buildings and two other 40-story skyscrapers, with mixed uses of offices, hotels and rental housing, 2,000 parking spaces with electric car charging stations, and 40,000 square meters of active commercial buildings. Located above the shopping and entertainment complex opposite the Beach Village’, this is a commercial complex with a European street atmosphere.
Shir Salomon, marketing manager for the Beachfront Village complex: “The office buildings in this project are designed for large international companies that have chosen to locate their sites in projects that are involved in fighting the climate crisis, and we are happy to be part of this move.”
Another LEED-certified project is currently being built in Tel Aviv. The Battery Project by Mbane. Located on Hasolelem Street near the Yigal Alon intersection, the project is currently in an advanced stage of construction. The project will include 65,000 square meters of office space, 3,300 square meters of commercial space, and 360 residential units. The Embankment complex complies with green and sustainable building standards and features large spaces between buildings to allow air flow, light to enter, shaded green spaces, and most importantly, a sense of space.
Uzi Levy, CEO of the Mebane Group, which is building the project, describes: “Large international companies, as well as leading companies in Israeli industry today, attach great importance to meeting binding standards for environmental quality and sustainability. As a result, there is a demand for office buildings that meet the highest standards, such as LEED Platinum. Many countries in the Western world are now pursuing similar initiatives, and in major cities such as London and New York, buildings that do not obtain LEED standards still have no tenants.”
