“No,” White House press secretary Karina Jean-Pierre said at a news conference.
Biden is dealing with criticism from some Democrats who say he lacks the mental acumen to compete as the party’s nominee against Trump in the Nov. 5 presidential election.
A Reuters review of White House visitor logs showed that Dr. Kevin Canard, a neurologist and movement disorder specialist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, visited the White House eight times from August to March.
Canard co-authored a Vanderbilt University Medical Center study on early Parkinson’s disease treatment.
The logs show that Canard met with White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor at the White House in mid-January.
News of Canard’s visit to the White House was first reported by New York Post July 6th.
A former White House official who worked for Biden when he was vice president under President Barack Obama and when he was president said they were treated for migraines by the same doctor in 2016.
The former official said the doctor came to the White House once a month as part of a rotation of doctors.
Jean-Pierre declined to confirm or elaborate on Canard’s visit.
She was frequently questioned by reporters at the news conference and said she wanted to respect the privacy of everyone involved for security reasons.
She said Biden has seen a neurologist three times during his annual physicals.
She did not explain why Canard was at the White House, but suggested it might be related to treating some military personnel who work there.
“We have thousands of military personnel coming to the White House and they are being cared for by the medical department,” she said.
