F Town mayor urges action on crime-ridden BHC property
Francistown Mayor Godisang Ladisego has called on the Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) to take responsibility for its abandoned houses in the suburb of Minestone which have become hotspots for criminal activities, especially drug smuggling. Locally known as the “City of Darkness” due to the lack of electricity connection, these BHC houses have caused great concern to the municipality.
Ladisego raised these concerns during a recent meeting with new BHC Northern Region Director Goitseone Sebego and his team at Francistown City Council. The mayor stressed the urgent need for action, stressing that these properties are centrally located and vital to the Blue Jackets Corridor Revitalization Plan.
