According to the police, a female body was found in the drain on Seeduwa Kale Palliyama Road in Liyanagemulla area. A 36-year-old mother living in Neluwa area of Galle died.
Later, she temporarily settled in a hotel in Seeduwa in Liyanagemulla area with a person working in Seeduwa Tourist Hotel.
Police said the deceased woman had an argument with the man over an incident that happened at a nightclub.
Police further stated that security cameras recorded her and the man walking in front of St. Sebastian’s Church between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. last night.
Police received information that the woman was found dead near the road in front of the church with cuts on her body.
The body of the deceased woman has been taken to Migomuwa Hospital.
Seeduwa police are conducting further investigation to arrest the suspect.
