The Berat Prosecutor’s Office summoned former Interior Minister Brady Suki to give explanations as an insider regarding the criminal case of abuse of power opened in 2022. According to the summons signed by Prosecutor Eni Kuli, the former minister must appear in court on July 15 at 12:00 noon.

The summons was sent to Tirana’s Third Police Station for execution, as the former minister resides in the capital under the jurisdiction of that police station. The prosecutor said in the summons that if Suchi does not appear in court without legal obstacles, an order will be issued for his compulsory escort.

The criminal case is related to the theft of 54 tons of metal from the Polysani Mechanical Works, which caused considerable damage to the plant.

Investigations revealed that Susi had been in contact with Erion Zylyftari, director of the police’s mechanical joint unit and leader of the Polisan Socialist Party.

At the same time, regarding the penalties incurred, an audit has been conducted and the findings will be provided to Defense Minister Niko Pelechi, who may be summoned to take evidence, since the police mechanical complex is the property of the agency that runs it.

Currently, the investigation is being conducted at the Berat Prosecutor’s Office, but if data is found that could implicate Brady Suki or Defense Minister Niko Pelešić, the investigation will most likely be transferred to SPAK’s jurisdiction.
