Venezuela was able to respond even in the second half, especially in the 64th minute when Salomón Rondón made the score 1-1, giving Vino Tinto hope of turning the score around.
Of course, the 1-1 result lasted until the 95th minute and the ticket to the semi-finals had to be decided by a penalty shootout, where Canada defeated Venezuela 4-3 and will now play the Argentine national team in New York next Tuesday, seeking a ticket to the Copa America final.
