Stolac Tarča is the first event of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the old town of Stolac Tarča will once again attract a large number of local and foreign tourists, and will feature knightly fights and performances for two consecutive days.
The event was opened by the Mayor of Stolac, Stjepan Bošković, who hoped that visitors would enjoy the colorful program, including knightly battles, plays, workshops, gastronomic offers and many other interesting activities.
Vlado Terkeš Feni, a member of the organizing team of the Herceg Stepan Kosacha Order, the historical unit, said that the number of tourists participating in the event increases every year.
Judging by the number of tickets sold, last year five thousand spectators visited the event, something the organizers are proud of.
– As can be seen from the attachment, the event itself and we as knights are committed to the preservation of the Old Town of Vidoški. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful nature and environment. Stolac tarca has become a brand in the region, people have heard about us and are enthusiastic about the event – says Terkeš.
He stressed that this form of expression, in addition to tourism and economy, mainly has the function of protecting cultural, historical and natural heritage.
In terms of the program, the organizers have made today’s event mainly suitable for children, organizing performances, various games, fencing schools, tug-of-war, axe throwing workshops and more.
– On Saturday, we will organize archery competitions, ceramics and Bosnian workshops, etc. During these two days, we have prepared a special battle for the city of Herceg, then there will be fire shows, DJ performances, falconry shows by falconer Hani Girgis, who performs acrobatics with trained birds, Turks revealed.
He noted that knightly groups from Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, and many other countries participated in this year’s event. In addition to organizing the medieval fair, Turks said they themselves also participate in other events held abroad.
– Our unit often participates in similar events, we have ten to fifteen guest appearances every year. We go to Croatia most often, but we also go to Romania, Serbia… We work hard and we think that our participation is visible – Terkeš concludes.
