Zambian rugby sevens scrumhalf Cedric Tendai has suffered a deep cut on his forehead and is in doubt for the second round of the 2024 Rugby Africa Championship qualifiers which kicks off in St Louis tomorrow.
Despite the injury, Zambia coach Mwamba Chishimba said the key player will be assessed before the game to see if he is fit enough to play.
“The team is in good shape, only one player (Cedric Tende) is not in good shape, but the team doctors are doing everything to get him back in shape. Tende is one of the best kickers in our team and he has a cut on his forehead, but we will know the result on Saturday. Hopefully he will be fit to play,” he said.
