*(For three days, in a small room, no phone or laptop allowed, the only connection to the outside world was a hole in the door through which food went to the people inside) This is something I have been doing since April last year as part of a social program initiated in South Korea *****

* The program, which involves three days in a room resembling solitary confinement, is attended by many (fathers); As for the goal; To empathize with their children who are suffering from social isolation during the crisis that is plaguing South Koreans, the scholars in charge of the project hope that the isolation will provide (parents) with an opportunity; To give them a deeper understanding of (their orphans’) situation; This could help their treatment.

*****

* Here, excessive use of social networking sites has become a major cause of (social isolation) and may even lead to reaching the stage of (depression), as confirmed by a scientific research conducted by the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

*****

* Our Saudi society is one of those that is addicted to the Internet and its communication sites. The country has about 36.84 million Internet users, which is (99.0%) of the total population, while social network users. Sites exceed (35 million), which is equivalent to (94.3 million) inhabitants of our beloved Kingdom, and their total number of cellular connections is (49.89 million), which is more than (134%) of the total. The average Saudi Arabian spends (7 hours and 20 minutes per day) on the Internet and its programs.

*****

* These figures and statistics confirm the addiction of a large part of (our society) to the Internet and its applications, with the result that a large part of the population is isolated, they have become captives of a virtual electronic world in which they live their lives, which is their refuge away from the circle of others, their secrets and the pulse of the community, which is confirmed by the tangible reality and about which the family complains.

*****

* I am convinced that this is a crisis that is ravaging society, especially young people, and that requires scientific research to diagnose the reality with complete transparency and develop honest, practical solutions, far from theory, to bring these groups out of isolation. So that their time can serve themselves, their community and their country, while making parents aware of the seriousness of the situation, even if the price to pay for saving their children is imprisonment, as happened in (South Korea) and your safety.
