The Prime Minister presented a comprehensive anti-drug policy to the freshmen of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University and stressed that this is a national agenda. I ask all regions to unite to stop this phenomenon. Set a 3-month emergency deadline and let the governor act as CEO to promote it.
At 12:35 on July 2, at Korat Shopping Center, Terminal 21, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Prime Minister Mr. Settha Thavisin gave a comprehensive policy to solve the problem of new emergency medicines. Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University took a photo with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Mr. Phumtham Wechachai, Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, and Minister of Interior Mr. Prasert Chandraruangthong, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Colonel Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, Ms. Jiraporn Sinthuprai, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Chakrabongse Saengmanee, Head of the Government Agencies of the Prime Minister’s Office Subdistrict attended the event.
The policy that the Prime Minister has put forward is that his appearance today is important. This is a national agenda. It is about drugs. Many of you may already know this. There may be relatives, acquaintances or people related who have drug problems. This goes back to when he entered the political arena and launched a campaign to meet fellow countrymen in almost every province. Besides gastrointestinal problems, the biggest problem is the drug problem, especially the importation of amphetamines from neighboring countries. The price of amphetamines is falling every day. Although the government has dealt with drug dealers and seized methamphetamine more than 4 times in the past period. But drug use continues. The price of amphetamine has not increased. The stable price indicates that the supply is sufficient. Therefore, this matter is considered another important matter.
Our arrival today is to prepare for a new stage in your life. A prestigious institution since high school. We came to this place to be the pride of our parents and siblings. I started another four years of life and will have a stable career. Bring income to the family and bring pride to relatives. The only thing that can prevent hope from coming true is drugs.
Mr. Seta said that during his 10 months in office, we took this matter very seriously. But you have to admit that no matter how much effort you put in, you will encounter many problems, and the problems will never go away. Now we have to look at it seriously. In the past week, there have been constant visits, both in the northern region and the northeast region, especially in the northeast region, which is very easy to come in. Therefore, many departments must be integrated. This is undeniable. Drugs are the root cause of many losses. The biggest loss is the loss of many opportunities. Whether it is occupation, imprisonment, or more serious loss of life. In the past, drug problems have affected the lives and property of society in many parts of the country.
Therefore, we ask all agencies involved in drug control to help each other as much as possible. To completely suppress drugs. All relevant departments are asked to use the drug elimination projects in Wang Phae District, Nan Province and Tawa Buri District, Roi Et Province as a model for solving the problem. These two projects will be cooperative actions of all agencies. Whether it is the police, soldiers, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Public Health. The Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Public Health and many other agencies are working together to eliminate drugs in the areas we are responsible for from today.
Mr Settha said all agencies must work together to address the drug problem through a comprehensive policy with an urgent period of three months as follows.
1. Make the provincial governors, together with the provincial police commanders, serve as the chief executives to promote the solution of drug problems. The provincial public health doctor and the chairman of the provincial administrative agency promote all departments in the region to work together to prevent, stop and solve drug problems. 2. Break the major drug trade cycle to carry out drug cleanup operations in the region, speed up the dance, conduct X-ray inspections in each area, mobilize each village to conduct urine tests on high-risk people aged 16 and above. And isolate addicts for treatment and the Royal Thai Police, the Ministry of Justice, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NACC) and the Ministry of Defense to expand the effect of catching sellers and severe prosecution is considered to cut off the supply chain from the system. Including improving the efficiency of drug case support standards, seriously and decisively deal with government officials involved in drugs. Pay attention to the urgent handling of citizen complaints.
Mr. Settha expressed his willingness to work with the Royal Thai Police, the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Ministry of Defense. Reduce the severity of the drug problem and reduce the suffering of people from drug-induced mental illness problems. It has been designated as an urgent priority for each province and is under the charge of Royal Thai Police officers. The Ministry of Interior works together to find people who have mental symptoms due to drugs and hand them over to the Ministry of Public Health. The Ministry of Justice imports processing and establishes a system to track, care, help and observe after the symptoms are treated and returned to the community. Let the provinces include drug addicts in the drug rehabilitation system from screening, treatment, referral and other links according to the process, ensure social rehabilitation for personal, professional, educational help, and let local government organizations participate in support actions so that drug addicts can get help. Have a better quality of life. Including the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Interior, we must come in to take care of these people, let them receive treatment and return to social life. There is still a lot of work to do to prevent these people from taking drugs again. Take measures to control social regulations risk factors such as entertainment venues, service venues, and venues. Similar to entertainment venues, educational institutions in various places must strictly enforce the law. In order to prevent it from becoming a force for the spread of drugs, formulate community standards and social standards, and become a force against drugs widely. It plays the role of prevention, surveillance, monitoring, care and assistance, and has carried out law and order management in village communities to take care of each other and study and understand the negative impact of government drugs.
Mr. Seta said that solving the drug problem requires the provinces, police, army and the National Narcotics Agency and other agencies to have the support of their compatriots to fight the drug problem together. We work together as eyes and ears to find clues, monitor and prevent our children from getting involved in drugs. All citizens who know the whereabouts of drugs are asked to inform the police or government officials in the area. The governor asked for assistance in follow-up, complete treatment or suppression.
Finally, I would like to express my encouragement to all officials who have contributed to solving the drug problem, especially the 25 emergency provinces. We hope to see the drug problem and its violence reduced according to the set targets. Let people feel safe and stay away from drug problems. This is the highest wish of the government and all Thai people.
At the same time, the student representative thanked the Prime Minister for the honor of presenting a comprehensive policy to the students of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University to solve the pressing drug problem. Drinking, smoking or taking drugs is a serious danger in the vicinity of students. Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University student I will continue to implement the Prime Minister’s policy for the benefit of myself, my family and the country.
The Prime Minister then walked to greet the students and took photos with them.
