All services have been restored at the island’s public hospital following the passage of Cyclone Beryl yesterday.
Shane Sealy, Corporate Communications Specialist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, told Barbados Today Operations were back to normal yesterday evening as the Martindales Road facility sustained “very minor damage” and most of the damage had been attended to.
“Once the national lockdown is over and the alert is lifted, we will resume normal services and consultation hours from six o’clock. In the meantime, our clinics and pharmacies will operate as normal (today),” he said.
Seeley also recommended that patients whose surgeries or appointments were postponed due to weather conditions contact the hospital’s Patient Advice and Liaison Services line at 536-4800 to reschedule their appointment.
He added: “We are getting things back on track and we hope they will contact us so we can tell them what to do.”
