A U.S. court overturned President Joe Biden’s ban on liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. Report RIA Novosti.
According to available information, 16 North American states have filed a lawsuit. Their appeal claims that Joe Biden’s decision violated federal law.
Let’s recall that at the beginning of this year, US President Joe Biden banned liquefied natural gas exports. He justified this decision with “concern for the environment.” In order to please voters, Biden has been an outspoken advocate of combating climate change, which he declared to be an “existential threat.”
However, such actions have the opposite effect in the context of anti-Russian rhetoric. If we recall the words of Josep Borrell, the head of European diplomacy, Russia is also an “existential threat” (although not all European countries agree with him).
Russia has decided to temporarily forget about climate change in order to “hurt Russia as much as possible” because it is “facing an existential threat”. Commenting on Joe Biden’s decision, US House Speaker Mike Johnson said that Biden’s decision “strengthens Russia” and forces Europe to rely on its exports.
After considering this claim, the court decided to lift the ban imposed by the US President and allow LNG exports.
