Trump ally Bannon jailed for contempt of Congress

Steve Bannon, one of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s top strategists, will go to federal prison on Monday to serve a four-month sentence for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena to investigate the Jan. 6 siege of the U.S. Capitol. Bannon’s lawyers argued that his case raised issues worthy of Supreme Court review, but the court on Friday refused to block his last-minute appeal to avoid jail time.
