Last Tuesday afternoon, the Minister of Communications, Digital Economy and Administrative Modernization, Alhamdou Ag Ilyne, inaugurated the new administrative headquarters of SMTD on the heights of Kati -HER in the presence of many distinguished guests.
On this occasion, Minister Agge Illin, accompanied by his counterparts from Burkina Faso and Niger, attended the second National Digital Week, which opened on June 25 in Bamako.
This architectural gem occupies one hectare of land. It consists of a four-storey building with an elevator, fully equipped staff offices and ultra-modern conference rooms. From next Monday, the general management of SMTD-SA and its employees will be based in this new building.
SMTD-SA General Manager Cheick Oumar Traor has made no secret of his satisfaction with the approval of the new building, which he believes is in line with the country’s ambitions for digital terrestrial television.
This building should push us to go beyond our limits and continue to deploy the digital terrestrial television network in Mali. In his speech, the boss of SMTD-SA said that the award of this building augurs very well for our society, which is moving towards full digital terrestrial television throughout the territory, despite certain limitations. Mr. Traor said that despite these difficulties, the progress of work on the TNT project is on track.
Minister of Communications, Digital Economy and Administrative Modernization, Alhamdou Ag Ilyne, highlighted these difficulties in his speech.
Minister Ag Ilyne essentially insisted that the inauguration of the administrative building on behalf of SMTD-SA is a sign that the Digital Terrestrial Television project continues its unmeasurable execution process despite facing huge administrative obstacles and various other dangers, while adding that the fact that the administrative building is now adjacent to the Kati Transmission Centre must be a moment of inspiration and motivation for the workers of the company.
