The Ministry of Defense announced that members of the extremist terrorist organization Kurdistan Workers’ Party began burning forests in northern Iraq.
A statement released by the Ministry of Defense said: “Terrorist groups tried to hide by burning forests. Due to our operations in northern Iraq, the PKK terrorists had nowhere to go and they began burning forests.
The statement said, “The terrorists used the peaceful residents of Degel village as shields, opened fire on our troops and started burning the forest to avoid being discovered their location. The PKK terrorists also tried to mislead the local population by saying that the burning of the forest was caused by the Turkish Armed Forces firing in the burned areas of the forest.
