On the evening of October 29-30, the “traditional” autumn relay took place in Szekesfehervar. The event was hosted by the Hungarian Sri Chinmoy Marathon, and food and drinks were again free of meat and poison, and the minimum half-hour stay in the pool tried to emphasize the meditative nature of the sport. Even though I didn’t get poisoned this year, I didn’t bring a bottle of rum to the race.

We swam for 12 hours in a relay race at the Debrecen Senior Swimming Club with Lilla, Laci Rentka and János Szaszkó. The formula is simple: you have to take three dips in an hour and at the same time get as much sleep as possible. Of course, sleep was no longer smooth: the race once again showed the protein in his teeth – it is not a lot of swimming that really prepares a person, but a lack of sleep.

I swam powerfully, with long arm strokes, and covered 3600 meters in the first hour (I had never swum before), 3500 meters in the second hour, and 3400 meters in the third hour, a total of 10.5 kilometers. The team swam 40.4 kilometers in 12 hours, just a few hundred meters away from the podium. The old new long stroke (48/50 m) swimming once again proved: absolutely unbeatable over longer distances.
