MEMPHIS, Tenn. (LPL) — Telemundo executive Jonathan Mitchell visited the city of Memphis and presented the Hispanic TV station’s plans for the Memphis community at a luncheon hosted by the South Central Latino Chamber of Commerce at Tekila Restaurant, located on Union Avenue.
Mitchell, who was accompanied by Channel 5 News Director Mark Little, said one of the reasons Memphis Telecom is doing business in the city is the growth of the Hispanic population.
Recent demographic data shows that the number of Hispanic communities in this metropolitan area is growing faster than in other cities in Tennessee.
In front of local business owners, the manager showed some of the programming that was produced based on local content and he was assigned to Channel 14.
He also cited experience gained from working in various markets with growing Latino populations, such as San Francisco and other cities across the United States.
