‘Ninet’ discusses challenges of being a woman working in a male craft – Cinema Professions Syndicate

On October 6, the short film Ninet, the graduation project of the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts of the University, was screened during the Arab Film Academy event under the patronage of the Faculty’s Dean Dr. Amal Kamal. TV, supervised by Prof. Mona Al-Sabban’s work discusses the stories of three women from different social classes who talk about the extent of the restrictions they face in working in the labor market, especially because these jobs rely on hard conditions and require male workers. Captain Somaya Zidan from the Alexandria governorate is the first Egyptian woman to work in commercial diving and underwater welding. Master blacksmith Bossi Saad, the daughter of Al-Haddadeen Street in Mansoura, has been working as a blacksmith since she was seven years old. The Shaqiana woman, who has four sons and 11 sisters, learned the blacksmith’s craft from her father and gave up her studies to become the first blacksmith in Mansoura. Master Shaima Zaid works in the field of installation. Instead of working in industry in her husband’s shop, she works in aluminum metal, fittings and carpentry to help him with his work.She faces difficulties with society’s view of her as a woman, which other women also face. They have a difficult balance between family, motherhood and working outside the home, especially because of their involvement in the denunciation. The work is based on linking Egyptian women to the women in the Old Testament and the symbol of power of Hatshepsut, and embodies the various stages of Egyptian women. The goal of this work is to give women the opportunity to work, rather than discriminate against women in work, and is directed by Iman Hammad, director of Islamic Publishing House. Shalabi, Mennatullah Ghamr, Michael Ayman, the overall supervision of the project is by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Amal Kamal, the Radio and Television Department is supervised by Prof. Dr. Safaa Alam El-Din, the academic supervision is by Dr. Fatima Abu Al -Futouh, the external supervision is by Director Naglaa Abdel Qader, and the supervision is by Asst. Basma Salem.
