I apologize to anyone who is upset about this topic. She kept it as quiet as possible. All. Not thinking about it anymore.
It is interesting to see two posts at the same time on the same topic from different historical eras.

Ellenburg Time
Many women have noticed that a well-fed husband in the grocery store wants nothing. Or rather, he wants to get out of here as soon as possible. Ladies who don’t need to cook don’t rewrite cooking recipes, and happy lovers giggle and shrug at the sight of a marriage agency. In winter, few people are interested in straw hats, the suggestion to bring an umbrella in dry weather causes irritation, and a healthy person completely forgets what is in his first aid kit. But when a kitten appears in the house, Fukas and bright green become must-have items. This is understandable – existence determines consciousness.

This is less obvious for fiction, and even more so for journalism. Even after the end of the Soviet regime, Ehrenburg’s pamphlets were no longer needed. No one wanted or expected war, the past seemed clear, the future was not terrible. Ehrenburg lay quietly in the library; the excitement was caused by completely different books. Indeed, I had already read something by then. I don’t remember why in school I was given a small gray book containing selected articles by Simonov and Ehrenburg. I grew up next to the bookshelves with other books, but I read it, and I read almost everything by then. Simonov was gone, and Ehrenburg’s severity almost pushed me away (I had a good attitude towards Germans), but I was remembered. Precise wording, concise, angry. When I was fourteen or fifteen, Ilya Grigorievich offended me, and I adored Schiller, Beethoven and Brahms. Then the Germans were already divided, the Nazis were also divided, and it seemed that, in the past, Ehrenburg had no time, and now it came. It’s a pity.

lie

There is a Spanish song:
Some people sing what they know.
Others know what they are singing.

Hitler knew what he was singing. Germans sang what they knew.

They have been brought up with “substitutes”. They wear shoes made of dust, socks made of glass, hats made of cellulose. They eat honey made of sawdust, saccharine, pudding made of pills. They no longer recognize the fake. They do not distinguish between truth and lies. Their stomachs are canned, their eyes are blind, their hearts are empty.

When Hitler came to power, he set out to destroy the truth. He declared:

“By clever and tireless propaganda, people can be made to believe anything, heaven is hell, or the most miserable existence is heaven.”

Hitler over-achieved this plan: he convinced the Germans that Hitler’s hell was a kind of paradise.

In 1933, Hitler instructed Dr. Goebbels to create a “Propaganda Ministry.” Because Goebbels was short, he loved everything “big” – huge offices, ornate sofas, wall-sized paintings. Goebbels began to make up big lies.

The recipe was compiled by Hitler himself:

“The simpler the nonsense we use to deceive, the more it is designed to appeal to primitive feelings, and the more successful the results.”

Lies are manufactured for domestic use and export, military and civilian.

The German army had special “propaganda companies” – “RKs”. They were similar to chemical battalions that were responsible for poison gas missions. These companies were composed of different platoons. For example, one platoon of artists had to, as the instructions said, “without any imagination, with the help of hand-made easels, show the smallness of the enemy and the inspired faces of German soldiers.” A row of radio operators transmitted various military noises, such as the noise of artillery shells exploding or tanks, interrupted by hysterical shouts: “We have won again! Countless teams of prisoners are coming!”

According to the directives drawn up by Goebbels, “Korea” had to conduct “active propaganda,” meaning “to undermine the enemy’s will to resist by spreading false, demoralizing information.” This referred to propaganda among Hitler’s enemies. In Germany itself, Korea had to follow the same instructions to “collect facts and, if necessary, modify them in order to support the mood of the German people.” What did “modify the facts by editing” mean? It simply meant lying. You needed to lie to your enemies. You also needed to lie to your own people.

During the war with France, the Germans made radio broadcasts posing as French stations; spreading false military information; they told the wives of French soldiers that their husbands had been killed at the front; when they found the body of the murdered commander, they were convinced that he had surrendered and was “speaking for Hitler.”

They told the French they hated the English, and the English told the English they hated the French. In American shows they pretended to be cultured, pacifists, talked about the cult of the family, and even quoted Byron and Shelley. Meanwhile, the SS covered women and burned books.

German journalists were officers of the Propaganda Ministry. Even in peacetime, they wore uniforms and followed military discipline. Every day Goebbels would think of something to lie about. This would be reported in the form of a circular to all newspapers marked “Top Secret.”

The ministry had different sections. In one they described atrocities, in another they collected ethnographic data, in a third they produced popular prints about the excessive bravery of the Germans. All of this was distributed to the German population in unlimited quantities every day.

Before the occupation of Czechoslovakia, Goebbels ordered his journalists to focus on “Czech atrocities.” Eighty-six journalists worked. Suddenly it was discovered that peaceful, kind Czechs were raping German women and torturing Germans. Meanwhile, the Nazis invaded Bohemia and Moravia and massacred Czechs. Then “Polish atrocities” were needed. Finally, the Holocaust leaders announced that the Holocaust was organized by Jews. They printed in black and white: “Pogroms carried out by Jews in Bromberg, Lvov and Bialystok.”

Other doodlers with PhDs believe that the Germans own the world and that all countries are basically inhabited by Germans.

Here are some of the discoveries of these gentlemen. Marseilles and Lyons were ancient German colonies. Spain is a country of the Germanic race. Shakespeare was a German. Copernicus was a German. Cyril and Methodius were brought up in German culture. The Principality of Kiev was in the orbit of Germany. India is related to Germany by blood.

It takes a mediocre reporter and a quarter of a bottle of gin to portray German heroism. We learn that a German pilot shot down three hundred and eighty British planes, that near Shkoder six German soldiers destroyed a Serbian division, and that three German soldiers surrounded a Soviet battalion.

There were other sections of the ministry. One of the letters and photos shows how the inhabitants of the countries occupied by the Germans rejoiced at the invaders. They described lyrically: “In Paris, women threw roses at us…”, “In Thessaloniki, women kissed officers and handed wine to soldiers”, “In Smolensk, the inhabitants saw our tanks and cried for joy.” Photos are tricky. The photo “Germans in Paris” was prepared like this: Hitler’s soldiers walked along the sidewalk, and the crowd on the sidewalk was taken from a photo taken before the war – a parade on the Champs Elysées. Who would tell the Berliners that in Thessaloniki people threw themselves into the sea just to escape the Germans, that they entered Paris, which was abandoned by the inhabitants, and that in Smolensk they found an empty city?

The war against the Soviet Union inspired Goebbels. This gangly degenerate with a cleft lip lay on the assembly line day and night. Here are some examples of his work:

“Berlin, July 27. Moscow is burning after yesterday’s explosion. Eight hundred houses destroyed. The Kremlin is a smoking ruin. Mogus is destroyed. There is no electricity in Moscow, the trams do not run.”

“August 8, Berlin. Moscow is empty. Half the ministries have gone to Gorky, the other half will be sent to Nizhny Novgorod.”

You know, Nizhny is the same Gorky? He studied not geography, but lies. As for the Germans, they will swallow everything … And how can you, sitting in Berlin, check whether Moscow is standing still?

Berlin gossipers, sitting in their air-raid shelters (where British and Soviet bombs were falling from the sky), encouraged each other: “We have a new weapon.” Yes, they had a “new weapon” – and it was a lie that was told with impunity, unprecedented, and shameless.

When children are deceived, you want to drive the deceiver away. But the Germans were not children, they were children who grew up with Linotype machines and machine guns. Why were they deceived? Because they wanted to be deceived. They were afraid of the truth. Baldur von Schirach, the leader of the “Hitler Youth”, said: “German lies are better than human truth.” His adopted son, Corporal Stamp, wrote in his diary: “Today they broadcast on the radio that three million Russians are surrounded and we will kill them all in a week. Maybe it’s a lie, but it’s good to listen to anyway…”

They grew up with lies, it’s their mother’s milk. They lie to their subordinates. They lie to their bosses. They lie abroad. They lie at home. They can’t help but lie. When they sign a friendship agreement, they figure out where to drop the bomb. When they talk about culture, it means that in one hour they will be robbing, and in two hours they will be hanged.

Argue with them? – With a bayonet. Refute their lies? – With a bullet.
August 29, 1941

“…In one hour they will be robbing, in two hours they will be hanged,” Ehrenburg stated in the terrifying year 1941. “We will hang you later,” the mysterious man admitted in 2014. Also scary.

And the news of our time

Ukraine needs to create a “propaganda ministry”. Yuri Mikhalkhin, a deputy of the Svoboda party, made the remarks on Ukraine’s 112 TV channel.

“We need our own propaganda department. We don’t have it, but now we need to actively build it. The residents of Donetsk and Luhansk need a Ukrainian information product based on the needs of the times. It must be aggressive and creative. Smartly, we need to win back what we have lost in the past few years step by step. This will require months of hard, effective work,” he said.

Mikhalcishin said that the main problem in Ukraine today is not Putin’s ideology and his activities, but the local “information scum”.

“Our main problem today is not Putin, not his ideologues like Dugin, but the information residue that still poisons the minds of our citizens, not only in Donbass, but throughout Ukraine,” the people’s deputy said.

As far as I remember, the “Propaganda Ministry” existed only in Nazi Germany. Goebbels headed it. I recommend that Temchuk be immediately appointed Minister of Propaganda for life.
